Worldwide Hospital and Practitioner Network

HCCMIS maintains relationships with hospitals and doctors throughout the world, and this network is growing daily. Many of your provider selection decisions will be based on geographical location and provider specialties. Coinsurance will be waived for expenses incurred in the USA within our direct-pay PPO (Preferred Provider Network). Simply present your ID card at the provider's office so that they may contact us to verify benefits and billing information.

USA Provider Network
HCC Medical Insurance Services uses the CMN Network from Europ Assistance. The CMN logo is found on your Hospital ID card. Please click here for the USA hospital provider directory.

International Network
For your convenience, HCC Medical Insurance Services also offers an international network. Within the network HCCMIS will help you find a provider that suits your needs and can work with us through direct billing to save you time and money. The network is located in Student Zone which is easily accessible with your Certificate number and date of birth once coverage has been approved.

Student Zone is an online account management and resource tool that allows you to:

Change personal information
Reprint ID cards
Pre-certify for certain medical procedures and hospitalizations
Locate providers within the Hospital PPO Network

Eligibility

To be eligible for the International Student Medical Insurance, Participants must meet all of the following requirements:

Must be a Full-time Student at a college or university, excluding online colleges and universities, or within 31 days of being a Full-time Student at a college or university; or must be a Full-time Scholar affiliated with an educational institution and performing work or research for at least 30 hours per week. The Full-time Student/Scholar status requirement is waived for Participants within the US holding a valid F-1 visa. Full-time status requirements remain in force for individuals holding M-1, J-1, or other category visas.
Must be residing outside Home Country for the purpose of pursuing international educational activities.
Must not have obtained residency status in the Host Country.

Participants visiting the US must hold a valid education-related visa. A copy of the I-20 or DS-2019 may be requested. For US citizens and residents, the Host Country must be outside the US, including US territories.

Full-time Student Definition
A student at a college or university who is taking 10 credit hours (undergraduate students) or 6 credit hours (graduate students). Full-time Student status for individuals enrolled at colleges or universities that do not use a credit hour system must provide documentation of Full-time Student status.

Pre-Certification and Claim Filing

To receive full benefits pre-certification is required for hospitalization, surgery, within 48 hours of an emergency hospital admission, within 90 days of pregnancy, CAT Scans and MRIs. Pre-certification may be done by contacting Customer Support at 1-800-605-2282 in the USA, or collect outside the USA at 1-317-262-2132 or through the Student Zone. Please see the certificate for more details. For treatments in the USA we recommend you to go to a hospitial or practitioner within the PPO (Preferred Provider Network).

You may file a claim by submitting a Claimant’s Statement and Authorization Form. Complete the form, attach all orignal invoices and payment receipts, and send them to the address shown on the Claimant’s Statement.
